Chased by shadows

A woman walks along the surfline on the beach on the edge between morning and night at harvey Cedars on LBI.

The sun rises over the ocean to the east, while Long Beach Island still lingers in the last of the predawn shadows.

Rail cars, Burlington bike path north

There’s a working rail line along the shores of Lake Champlain, freight mostly, but the occasional holiday passenger train. It seems like some parts of the line are used mostly to park rolling stock.

Down to the water

When the water is high, the steps disappeared into the lake.

Grey Sunday just afternoon. Set out for a walk with Junebug and met nearly no one until after about an hour, seems people began to come out despite the weather. Wasn’t in the mood to share the trails with anyone.

A man walks across a field

Cutting across the field back toward the woods.

A week earlier, much sunnier weather with the clear light you see i.n autumn that’s sharper than the brightest summer day for the cold in the air.

Pool on Blodgett Beach

In a pool on Blodgett Beach, wind ripples the surface of the water.

Blodgett Beach

Someone raised a piece of driftwood on the beach. Normally, this part of the the beach would in under water, but we had an exceptionally dry summer that kept the lake water lows well into winter.
