Photo a day: June 4 – More scenes from the flooding with the trusty Electro 35 rangefinder

By the waterfront

Dug out this old rangefinder, the Yashica Electro 35 GNS. I’d forgotten how bright and sharp the Yshinon 45mm f1.7 lens is on this camera. The rangefinder is easy to focus and the meter is spot-on.  The body is a bit big for carrying around, but feels great in the hand. The only thing that’s always bothered me is that the camera feels much lighter than it looks – gives the impression of not being too sturdy. Still, decades old and still going strong. I cleaned out the rangefinder housing and replaced the light seals when I first got the camera a couple of years go.
